Oceanic EDX - First Stage Only
This top of the line cold forged, over balanced diaphragm first stage is environmentally sealed and comes with 4 low pressure and 2 high pressure ports. The exciting new Oceanic EDX first stage also comes equipped with a heat exchanger for added cold water performance making it ideal for southern Australian waters. The Oceanic EDX offers divers a balanced diaphragm design which has been manufactured from forged chromed marine brass.
The cleverly designed balanced diaphragm first stage regulator also means that its inherently environmentally sealed. Water enters the main spring cavity and the pressure increase from the water is transmitted to the internal components by the impermeable diaphragm membrane. The benefit of this type of first stage design is that none of the delicate internal parts are exposed to contaminants such as salt, sand, chlorine or pool acids. These environmental contaminants can cause corrosion and mineral deposits to form on the internal mechanism deteriorating regulator performance. A diaphragm first stage regulator also requires less maintenance than regulators that allow these contaminates to enter the internal mechanism.
In addition, the EDX first stage regulator has a secondary diaphragm to completely seal off the main spring cavity. A sealed balanced diaphragm design isolate the main spring cavities internal components from the environment. It also means that the EDX is excellent for ice diving as it won't freeze up, or for diving in waters filled with contaminants or sediment as it won't corrode. The Oceanic EDX First Stage Regulator is Nitrox compatible to 40% straight out of the box and is available in two configuration options: 232 BAR Yoke or 300 BAR DIN.
